We’ve all had that voice in our head, the one that whispers reasons we can’t, shouldn’t, or won’t succeed when it comes to working out or eating better. These thoughts feel real, but most of the time, they’re just limiting beliefs: deeply ingrained stories we tell ourselves that hold us back from becoming who we want to be.

At CrossFit Influence, we believe these stories deserve to be challenged. Let’s look at some of the most common limiting beliefs in the gym and kitchen, and what we can say back to them.

Limiting Belief #1: “I need to be in shape before I go to the gym.”

Reality:
This is like saying, “I need to be clean before I take a shower.” The gym exists to help you get in shape. No one expects perfection, not our coaches, and certainly not our community. Everyone starts somewhere, and starting where you are is the most courageous thing you can do.

Limiting Belief #2: “I don’t have time to work out or eat healthy.”

Reality:
It’s not about having time, it’s about making time for what matters. And your health? It matters. Even 30 minutes a few times a week can make a big difference. Meal prepping doesn’t have to take hours; it’s often as simple as cooking an extra portion for dinner or choosing a few staples each week. Start small and build momentum.

Limiting Belief #3: “I’ve tried before and failed, why bother trying again?”

Reality:
What if your past attempts weren’t failures, but lessons? Each time you try, you gain experience, clarity, and awareness. Maybe this time, you have the right support. Maybe this time, you find joy in the process. Don’t let your past define your future.

Limiting Belief #4: “Eating healthy means giving up all the food I love.”

Reality:
That sounds miserable, and it’s not true. We believe in balance, not restriction. With our nutrition program, we teach sustainable habits that include your favorite foods. We want you to eat the pizza, enjoy the occasional treat, and still feel in control of your goals. It’s not about perfection. It’s about consistency over time.

Limiting Belief #5: “Everyone will be fitter/stronger/better than me.”

Reality:
Comparison kills progress. At CrossFit Influence, we celebrate effort, not ego. Our members are all on their own journeys, and they’ll be the first to cheer you on. You don’t have to match anyone else, just show up for yourself. That’s what we care about.

Limiting Belief #6: “Nutrition is too complicated, I’ll never figure it out.”

Reality:
You don’t need to count every calorie or follow a strict plan to succeed. Most of the time, it’s about going back to the basics: eat more whole foods, stay hydrated, fuel your workouts, and be mindful. And if you do want guidance, our coaches are here to simplify the process and walk you through it, step by step.

Final Thoughts

Limiting beliefs feel real, but they don’t have to control your life.

HOLD POLICY

Month-to-Month Membership Agreements and Annual Membership Agreements: You may place your Membership on hold two (2) times per calendar year up to three (3) consecutive months each time. Advanced notice of at least two (2) business days is required. The hold must be 30 days in duration at a minimum and 30 days must elapse between holds. Upon expiration of the term of the hold, your account will automatically become active and payments will resume. Should you choose to return prior to the end of their hold period, the hold will be released and payments will resume.

CANCELLATION REQUEST

All membership agreements require 14-days written notice to cancel your membership. This form will serve as your 14-days written cancellation notice. Note that if you have a scheduled renewal payment within 14-days of your invoice billing date, the payment will be processed as scheduled. Your membership will be canceled at the end of your final paid month. All payments are non-refundable. All grandfathered membership rates will also be forfeited and returning members will be subject to current rates.
