Words matter.
The way we talk about something shapes how we think about it. And how we think about it shapes what we end up doing.
This time of year, we hear a lot about “surviving the holidays.” Surviving the parties, the family gatherings, the food, the travel, the busyness. It is everywhere.
And if we are being honest, most of these “survival guides” are really just tips on how to eat less, or how to make up for eating more. It gets confusing, frustrating and honestly a little exhausting.
But think about it. What exactly are we surviving? A season that is supposed to bring joy, connection and some much needed rest?
What if we looked at it differently?
What if this year you decided to thrive?
Thrive by enjoying good food that makes you feel warm and satisfied.
Thrive by crushing a great workout because you fueled your body well.
Thrive by taking a long nap after a big meal or a night out and actually letting yourself rest.
Thrive by being around people you love, moving your body, eating well, and taking care of yourself in a way that feels good.
You do not need to survive the holidays.
You can thrive through them.
And honestly, you deserve that.
