One of the biggest challenges in fitness isn’t the workouts themselves, it’s showing up consistently. We all have those days when motivation feels low, energy is lacking, or the workout posted on the board looks intimidating (or includes a movement you’d rather avoid altogether).
But here’s the truth: something is always better than nothing.
At CrossFit Influence, we emphasize the power of scaling, not as a compromise, but as a strategy. Scaling allows you to adjust movements, weights, and reps, so you can still move your body, build momentum, and maintain consistency.
Why Scaling Matters
Scaling isn’t about doing “less”, it’s about doing what works for you in that moment. On days you’re sore, tired, or just not in the mood for a particular movement, scaling keeps you moving without skipping entirely. Progress doesn’t come from perfection, it comes from consistency.
Think about it this way: missing a workout because you don’t like a movement means zero progress that day. Scaling that same workout to something you enjoy or can handle? That keeps the habit strong, the body engaged, and the results coming.
Your Coaches Have Your Back
Not a fan of running? Dreading wall balls? Struggling with pull-ups? Feeling wiped out from a long day? Instead of skipping class, just show up and let your coach know how you’re feeling. We’ll find an alternative movement that works for you while still giving you a great workout.
We care far less about whether you Rx the workout and far more about you walking in the door consistently.
Consistency > Perfection
The members who see the biggest transformations aren’t the ones who crush every workout at 100%. They’re the ones who show up, week after week, even on the days they don’t feel like it.
So the next time you see a workout that makes you hesitate, remember this: something is always better than nothing. Scaling is your tool to keep the habit alive, the progress steady, and the journey sustainable.
At CrossFit Influence, our only real goal for you is consistency. Show up, scale when needed, and trust the process, you’ll be amazed at how far that takes you.
